Halfway There

Shining Bright

This weekend has been perfect. It is like the weather knows. So appropriately it was the most overall stunning Spring weekend yet. It was a beautiful couple days filled with a new experience, a milestone and a local favorite. With the sun endlessly shining bright, I feel like I am, too.

One of the most liberating things in life is trying something new. You might love it, you might hate it – but you will not know until you try it. On Saturday, I experienced Zumba for the first time. Our entire Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) tribe uncharacteristically threw on some socks and shoes to shake things up – literally and figuratively! Our teacher thought we could use a dance party to renew our energy. Rhythm or no rhythm, we owned it.

The beginning, the middle, and the end. All are pivotal points in any journey – including YTT. I am halfway there. The milestone of week six is complete. At this point, it is about trying to break down walls of fear for all of us. Fear of creativity while cuing a vinyasa practice. Fear of falling when attempting a handstand. Fear of the path after YTT. On the other side of fear is greatness. We are already great. We just have to knock down some walls and rediscover it.

Some places just have a way. A way of making you smile. A way of reminding you to be grateful. A way of making you wish you never had to leave. For Brad and I, that place is Annapolis. We spent today roaming the streets of downtown having photos taken. All the while, admiring its history, soaking up its charm, and simply enjoying every moment. We finished the day with a rooftop meal at one of our favorite spots. You cannot beat fresh air, a beautiful view, and yummy eats. Some of our fondest memories were and continue to be made in Annapolis.

Reflecting on the weekend only felt right while soaking up a bit more sunshine on the deck. Just to be inspired once more. To top it all off, our first dinner on the grill for the season. A perfect end to a perfect start.

On the brightest days, enjoy the sunshine outside your door and in your heart.
