Happy New Year
Welcome to a fresh start, a clean slate, a new beginning. The arrival of each new year brings an opportunity to let go of something – an idea, habit, or fear holding us back. That “something” is so 2016. By bidding it farewell we free up space for a better something to enter. Our resolutions help us get there. Having 365 days to work towards one single goal, and really working at it, undoubtedly brings change.
What is your New Year’s Resolution?
"New Year—a new chapter, new verse, or just the same old story? Ultimately we write it. The choice is ours."
-Alex Morritt
By the looks of the crowds at the gym this week, exercise, health, and fitness continue to top many of our lists in 2017. But I have a little something to add…
For years now, I have wanted to open an Etsy shop. But I have always been “too busy.” Truth is, I am afraid of all the wedding competition, scared no one will purchase my designs, and nervous about how I will keep up with invitation orders if they do start pouring in. Fear has held me back from potential success. With the help of my New Year’s Resolution, I am aiming to stop making excuses and let go of my fear of failure.
In 2017, I will open a Peace of Burlap Esty shop.
I have been designing for weddings since 2010. With each client, I create three design options to choose from – two of which never get used. You can imagine my surplus of invitation sets. Cherished time and energy spent designing is lost in those files on my computer taking up space. Now, those unused designs will be my kick-starter, my inspiration.
Let it go and let it in. Happy New Year, friends…may yours too be woven with love, happiness, and creativity.
