Summers Farm
The outside temps may be clinging to Summer, but I am about to dive face first into all things pumpkin. I cannot wait to throw on a cozy sweater, my favorite boots, and head to the farm. When Brad and I first started dating, we took a trip to Summers Farm in Frederick, MD to pick pumpkins. Over the years, it has become an annual trip with friends and my favorite Fall tradition. For adult or family fun, I highly recommend paying this place a visit – the fresh baked apple cider donuts are worth it. Their Fall Festival runs from September 22 – October 31, 2018.
Buy tickets online! They are day specific, not date specific, so you can save them for later.
Pumpkin picking is just one of many attractions at Summers Farm. The corn maze is always a must. One of the largest ever with 12 acres of 9-foot tall corn. Over the years we have wandered through creative designs from Baltimore Ravens to Taylor Swift.
Don’t miss the adorable pig races. The farmer lets the audience name the little guys – the black and white pig will be “Oreo” EVERY. TIME.
We love the Apple Blasters. Take aim at wooden targets painted like your favorite (or most hated) sports teams across an open field.
An apple (cider donut) a day keeps the doctor away. Enjoy hot cider and other farm treats, too!
Brad’s patience is tested while we search for the “perfect” pumpkin(s). Then we pose. I said it was a tradition, didn’t I?
Check out our picks over the years...
2013 // Mama and babies.
2015 // Mixing it up.
2016 // One and done.
2017 // The perfect pair.
2018 // TBD…
My favorite way to round out our visit is by adding a mini hay bale and some of the cutest gourds to our haul. Then I head home to get our porch Fall ready.
Check out Summers Farm this season…it will be a “hay ol’ time!”
