Save Our Date

Six Months To Go

Time flies when you are wedding planning! It has been three months since our engagement, but only six months to go before the big day (in social media land, #LoveYou4Eberhardt). Several checks have been made on the wedding list since choosing our venue – dress (YES!), Officiant, DJ, Photographer, Florist, and this weekend, a tasting (an excuse to eat cupcakes) at our favorite local bakery, Kupcakes & Co. But my favorite check on the list – our guests received small packages sealed with love to “Save Our Date.”

Here is a behind the scenes look at the handmade design…

"I swear I couldn’t love you more than I do right now, and yet I know I will tomorrow."

-Leo Christopher

The goal was to set the tone for our wedding, in both style and personality. Achieving this, started with a custom stamp by Red Cloud Studio on Etsy. I had the original design modified to work with my overall idea.

The stamp would become a magnet (it will make an appearance again!) Using a jumbo inkpad, I hand-stamped wood slices.

Brad was on sealing duty. He sprayed each piece with Krylon® Matte Finish to protect the ink and seal the unfinished wood.

Using clear, industrial strength E6000® I adhered ceramic magnets to the backs.

To complete the rustic-chic look with a playful vibe, I designed brown kraft paper cards to attach the magnets for mailing. Punching two holes in the center of each one, I used jute (perfect cuts credited to Brad) to tie each magnet on a card.

In matching brown kraft paper envelopes, our save the dates were signed, sealed, and ready to be delivered. The finishing touch was a “handmade with love” sticker.

Thank you to our family and friends who sent photos of their magnet in action. It makes our time spent creating truly worthwhile. We will be so happy to have all of you there to celebrate with us!

Future check on the list – invitation designs. Which I have promised Brad will cost less than three dollars apiece to mail. Listen, J. Lo had it all wrong…love does cost a thing.
